  10. I have recently inherited a number of photos, ranging in age from
  11. 20 to 100 years old, of my family. Since these photos are priceless,
  12. I am trying to digitize them so that I can have them on disk for
  13. archival reasons.

  15. I have experimented with using a VIDI-24 Framegrabber, however, the
  16. quality of the scan is not as high as I want. I have also experimented
  17. with a flatbed scanner at a local photocopy store, which gave me the
  18. quality, but it is expensive. In either case, I find that due to
  19. peculiarities in the photos, considerable touch-up is required.

  21. I am looking for some sort of image processor software which will
  22. allow me to touch up those photos, at a reasonable cost. It must be
  23. friendly for a novice, reasonably powerful, and CyberGraphx compatible.
  24. I have looked at Studio II, GFXLAB, and a couple of others, however,
  25. none of them seem to fit my needs. I have PhotoGenics Lite, which was
  26. included with my CV64, however, the Lite version seems to have some
  27. substantial problems with it (does not release memory, does not
  28. support virtual memory, is a memory-hog, and gurus).

  30. I was looking over an issue of Amazing Amiga (1994) the other day,
  31. and they had a review of ImageFX, ADPro, and ImageMaster in it. Of all
  32. of them, Imagemaster seemed to be the most cost-effective. However,
  33. I would like opinions on any/all Image processing/Paint programs before
  34. I go much further.

  36. So, what I want, is opinions of solutions to my problem, which are
  37. cost-effective and powerful enough to get the job done.
